Accolades still seem to be poring in for Vijay Antony and his biggest hit, “Naaka Mukka” from the film 'Kadhalil Vizhunthen'. The latest in the list is an honour that has eluded every south Indian musician so far: A Gold from Cannes.

This was part of the Cannes Festival held for best advertisements. One of the ads that got nominated to this category was Times of India’s signature campaign held during the launch of its Chennai edition last year. The advertisement capturing life in Chennai used this Vijay Antony composition in its background score. Acknowledging that music, the jury at Cannes has awarded the song and its composer an award for the Original Composition Best Utilised in an advertisement.

Over the moon at this honour is the composer himself, who is braced up to the challenge of making an album even bigger than his 'Kadhalil Vizhunthen'. He is currently working on Vijay’s 'Vettaikkaran', which is sure to be a smash hit.
